I don't know about the rest but those stairs look like they belong to London bridge (Jubilee Line)

It seems to be a very good mash-up (I hope). I'm sure St James Park is in there somewhere (platform); London Bridge +2 (stairs); Westminster (ceiling), the retaining wall and platform furniture escapes me.

I haven't got a clue about what's there though it does look French and today is, of course, Bastille Day. With that in mind I'd hazard a guess that the main part of the picture is the Ligne 5 station 'Bastille'.
By analogy one of the parts of the photo could also be Waterloo, though that's just supposition. My only other comment is that I don't think St. James's Park is in there anywhere - this is pretty much my local.

Sorry Rich32, no St James' Park, just: Main photo: London Bridge - Jubilee Line concourse [Chris M] We're almost there with the inset, but not quite: This version may help: Background: (click for a larger version)

I'm very sure that it's on the Paris Metro as seen from photos but having never seen the Paris Metro I couldn't give an answer.

None of the Parisien answers so far are correct, remember also that there is a "why today" question linked to the main picture, but not the background.

Yes, but why was London Bridge chosen for Bastille Day?

Is it the aniversary of the date the orignal London Brigde river crossing opened way back when?
