Hi everyone, This is going to sound very random indeed, but it is something what I have seen a lot lately when trains on the Victoria line pull in. Why do the train Operators have the cab light turned on in the tunnel but as they pull into the Platform they turn the light off?? I have seen a lot of youtube videos where this happens to, but would this be because they don't want there faces on camera Its a strange question i know, but shouldn't they be concentrating on the train more than constantly flicking a light on and off? Or is it that they don't want the public seeing them

Probably for security reasons maybe not sure why I know on the Jubilee line they always seem to have their lights on in the cab.

Maybe it happens automagically... What I do see is that 67ts cab lights were usually turned off too.

Or is it that they don't want the public seeing them It could be if there is a noisy fan running which is near the driver's cab, the driver switches off the the vent system. I have rode on a 09 and have come experienced the forced air system making an incredible amount of irritating noise and vibration, I can appreciate the driver having to switch it off.

<Bangs head on table.>
I wonder whether this wins the 'most banal thread ever' competition?
Seriously, I'm not sure how much longer I can read this stuff.

Sounds to me like the Train Op suffers from bipolaric-nyctophotophobia. It's not a fun thing, but it's good to see that LU is embracing this minority population. This forum has always been a supporter of equal opportunities and anti-discrimination; perhaps we should leave this discussion here rather than picking over the medical details of LU staff?

Sounds to me like the Train Op suffers from bipolaric-nyctophotophobia Possibly, if after 8pm of course. However it's far more likely to be (probably) onere totalis-stercora, a significantly more insidious problem lately.

A problem that should not be ignored, however. Eradicating onere totalis-stercora should be one of the highest priorities, lest it spread to animals, say, a bull.

"and there was much rejoicing" - particularly I imagine amongst the nyctophobic train ops!

I suspect at the current Augean rate, it might be a task for Hercules!
